This is thefirstandcurrentlytheoldestsurvivingbridge in Turkeythatconnectslandsseparatedby a strait.

The main landmark of Cunda Island remainstheTaksiarchis. Thelarge, formerGreekOrthodoxcathedralwasabandonedanddilapidated, but has nowbeenrestored. Poroselene bay in thenorth of theisland is amongCunda's main sights. Inantiquity, it wasthehome of a dolphin whichsaved a drowning boy, mentionedby Pausanias.
